"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15: 8-10
You must be wondering, what is so special about that coin? Well, it was probably a marriage present. Wouldn't you be worked up over losing a marriage present? This parable has two meanings: the literal losing of the coin, and the loss of one of His children. This coin was something special to her, but so is God. Sometimes we find what we lose, but sometimes we don't. But we can always find God. FIND those lost people and bring them to God. Jesus is the bride-groom, the church is the bride. The lost will be found when they work as one. The church is responsible for the people. Angels rejoice when someone comes and understands God. Be a follower of our Lord and savior. We all know someone who is struggling. All you have to do is try and show them the path of righteousness. What they do from there is up to them.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
