"Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, 'Are you the king of the Jews?' 'Is that your own idea?' Jesus asked, 'or did other talk to you about me?' 'Am I a Jew?' Pilate replied. 'It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?' Jesus said, 'My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.' 'You are a king, then!' said Pilate. Jesus answered, 'You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into this world, to testify to the trust. Everyone of the side of truth listens to me.'" John 18: 33-37
Christ is my king, my Lord, and my savior. He is the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. We are called to be servants. You just have to be faithful. Christ reigns forever. Worship the Lord who gives you eternal life. Stand before the Lord and don't hide or be fearful. He is the alpha and omega. He is the almighty. We are praising and worshiping Him. We need Christ the king EVERYDAY. Pilate ridiculed Jesus, don't do the same. Christ came to give and be a servant. We don't need a cup to drink from, a saucer is just fine. His Kingdom will have no end. Follow Jesus, and He will get you where you are going.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
