"And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2: 7
What do you mean there was no room for Jesus? Do you want to know why? It's because Mary and Joseph's families didn't believe that Jesus was Christ. From the beginning, Jesus has made room for us but we can't make room for Him? Everywhere there were "Godly" people, so why didn't anyone go visit Him? They didn't have time. But the shepherds did. There was little room for the Christ child from the Christ family. We have to slow down our fast paced lives. Do we have room for Jesus in our hearts? I do. Do we have time to worship Jesus? I do. I make time for my Lord. Every morning before I leave the house, I sit down, read my devotional, and read my scriptures. It takes a max of 5 minutes. Today I did not only that, but I got so caught up in the scriptures that I couldn't stop. I read and notated scriptures for an hour and a half. So don't tell me you don't have time for our Savior, you just don't want to become intimate with him. You can resist Him all you want. But He will always love you. And you can't forget Him.
Let us remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.
Happy Holidays: Holidays comes from the Holy Days
Xmas: X in old English means Christ
Saint Nicholas: Well, he was a bishop.
Everything comes back to Christ.
Merry CHRISTmas.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
