"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
I just want to start by saying, God will renew, and God will revive. I also want to remind you all that Christmas is a spiritual feeling, not just a special day of the year. We need to turn to God for everything, no matter what it is. There are four things that have to happen in order to reach Him. First, we have to humble ourselves. Second, pray. Prayer will do the world a difference. Third, seek God. You have to seek the face of God. Lastly, turn. This is the turning point that has to happen. You have to turn to God and give everything to Him. Let Him know that we need Him deeply. It takes all four steps, but this is what we need to do. We need to experience the face of God. Turn and face the cross. Turn and face Jesus Christ. Turn and face God. We can only prosper through Jesus Christ our savior. Can I get an amen?
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
