Why me, Lord?

"As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:1-5 We, as Christians, need to acknowledge the undeniable love he has for us. This passage also shows us how faithfully merciful God is. In this passage, Paul was preaching to the churches. He was telling them that they need to listen to the voice of God, just as I am telling you now. HELP ME LORD! In the past, we were spiritually dead because of disobedience and sin. We need to obey the ruler...

Novella Part 3

Officer Roberts was driving his normal route in his squad car when he got a call on his radio, “Unit 45 to 1205 West 5th street for a welfare concern.” “That’s Jenna’s house. Oh no. Something must be wrong,” the Roberts mumbled to himself. “Unit 45 I’m 10-96,” he replied in his radio. Upon arrival, he knocked on the door to Jenna’s townhouse. About that time, a second patrol car pulled up. When he doesn’t get a response from the residence, Roberts removed his Glock from its holster and turned the doorknob. Immediately, he saw the broken picture frame on the floor. After clearing the first floor, he proceeded up the stairs with the other patrol unit. Roberts noticed some dark red dots in the carpet. “Oh geez,” he muttered. He paused for a moment, and pushed open the door to Jenna’s bedroom. Officer Roberts was appalled at what he saw. “Lord have mercy,” the second patrol unit said. “We need a bus, coroner, and CID,” he radioed to the dispatch center. After making sure Jenna w...

Novella Part 2

That night, Jenna had beaten Keith home from work. She had his favorite meal prepared: baked chicken, steamed vegetables, salad, and a glass of coke and Jack. Little did he know that he was about to be in for the ride of his life. The door knob turned and in walked Keith. “Get out, Jenna,” Keith screamed while he pointed at the door. “Honey please, I promise. I want you, not him. It was always you. It has always been you,” Jenna pleaded with Keith. “I don’t care anymore. You want to sleep with scum, you can go marry scum. I want a divorce. Have you signed the damn papers yet?” “I can’t. I can’t. I can’t lose you, Keith. I want to have a family and a life with you,” Jenna said, tears streaming down her face. Keith’s face turned red like it always did when he was angry. “GET OUT.” “No. It’s my house too. Can’t we just talk it out? I even made your favorite dinner.” “No, Jenna, we can’t. In the midst of your affair, I’ve started my own.” “With who? That whore of a nurse you have...

A Bridge to God

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1 This is a great passage to read when you feel anxiety and worry. You need to fall on your knees and pray in the good times and the bad times. Be a praying person and turn to God at all times. You are not doing it alone. Sit down and study the word of God. He is always ready to help. God will hear your cries. The power of prayer is amazing and Godly. This passage also shows His faithful strength. You need to dedicate your life to God. Don't just be a good man, be a Godly man. Pray in all parts of your life. There are some things that continually lead us to God. Prayer is one of those. Worship, the closer you will get to God. Get involved in studying the word of God. Develop and strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ. God is our shelter and strength. He is always ready. Remember that in times of trouble.
