Matthew 11 gives us great insight into the relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist. In case you didn't know, because I sure didn't, they were cousins. Mary and her sister were pregnant at the same time and both could tell that their babies were special. John was very powerful. He even baptized Jesus. When John was about to be beheaded, he sent his disciples out to find Jesus to make sure that Jesus was in fact the son of God and that the scripture would be told. Instead of Jesus saying, "It's me," he told them of all the miracles he had don, letting John know that he was in fact the son of God. What should we learn from this? It's okay to doubt thinks and to want to make sure everything is in order. It's human nature. John wanted to make sure the word of God was going to be taught.
