"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right. Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in." Matthew 25: 31-35
This is the parable of the sheep and the goats. Why is it that God speaks to us at night? Maybe because it is the only time we have for ourselves. We need to run to the front of the church like the kids do. We need to love God. He will stand at your hearts door, praying you will let Him in. What are we as christians doing for this hurting world? We are the hands and feel of Christ. Goats and sheep would graze together. Sheep = Jesus. Goats = God. Goats are stubborn, sheep are mild. Why are they separated? Don't miss out on God. Lord help us to follow the Master. There will always be hard headed people.
This parable is something we can relate to that takes on a biblical meaning. Jesus is setting up His kingdom and preparing for the new coming. Jesus takes care of people, and then there are the hard headed people. Have you become a goat? Are you being what God needs you to be? What have you done for the glory of God? We have to do everything we can to keep God's people from being separated from God. Are you doing what God has called you to do? God's time and our time is different. We don't know when he is coming, so make sure you are prepared. You don't know when you will be judged, but make sure you are following the Master. God makes Himself known. He is involved in everything we do. God made everything. Remember that you didn't do anything, God did it for you. The power of the Holy Spirit is powerful. You just have to stop and listen.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
