"For he says, 'In the time of my favor I heard you and in the day of salvation I helped you.' I tell you now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2
How great is our God? He's fantastic. There's a problem though. People huddle up and walk away from God. That can hurt you physically, but mostly it hurts you spiritually. You have to walk through the house of God to get to salvation. How could the people in Corinth walk away from God? You have to be in Godly environments for Godly reasons. Why are all of these bad things happening? Why can't we love everyone? The problem is simple: God is not the sinner of our nation. We put everything in front of Him. We need Him as the sinner. God saves your soul. Church is the hospital for sinners and more and more people are leaving churches. Churches aren't hospices because He doesn't want you to continue making the same mistakes. God forgives. We become evangelists and ambassadors for Jesus Christ. You have to have a relationship with Christ. You have to have a fellowship with the brothers and sisters of Christ. This is not a church going nation anymore and it breaks my heart. The presence of God is so powerful. He is the savior of the world. You can change and accept Christ. You just have to want to make that change and want salvation.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
