"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:1-3
These verses remind us of the holiness of God and to fight off Satan. Bring Him your mind for rest and don't get stuck in a renewal rut. Have your mind on things above. Jesus rose above things. You have to rise above the pettiness, declutter your heart. Don't live your life with worry, rise above the concerns. Above all else is the dove. There is nothing that can separate us with the love of Christ. Have life and have it abundantly. You need to be a blessing in the real world. Fill your mind with heavenly things, and find a moment in your life to restore a moment with Christ. Life your thoughts above. Rise above these things. RISE ABOVE!
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
