"'You are my witness,' declares the Lord, 'and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.'" Isaiah 41:10
What is God saying? We need to remember that we are His chosen people. We have to be God's witnesses. We have to proclaim our faithfulness, follow God, and be a good witness. We have to give our blessings back to God. Israel was God's chosen people. They were to be God's witness. We have been adopted into the faith. We have to have a relationship. We have to pray. We have to worship. We have to give to God, and we have to give God to others. How well do we do as a society? How often do you invite people to church? Do you love Christ? You have to do more. I've learned that recently. If you think you're doing all you can, you have to push to do more. You have to do as you should. You have to be a witness for Him. People follow the witness they are around. There are both good and bad, so be that good witness for people. Don't be lukewarm. He will spew you from His mouth. You have to activate witnessing, meaning you have to make others be His witness also. Bring people to church. Live in Christ everywhere. Don't just do it at church. You have to spend more time with Him. What are you doing for God? What are you showing people? Show children God, and they will not depart from Him. We have to spread the word and bring people to be God's witnesses. You are a witness, and a child, of Christ.
I just recently finished "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. I had no idea what this novel was going to be about going into it; all I knew was that our 10th grade English class study it. Right off the bat I noticed that our narrator was not your average Joe. The narrator is death. When I realized this I said to myself, "Oh this is going to be good." The novel is all about the Holocaust and it is shown from a German point of view. Leisel Meminger's mother gives her away to a foster German family. On the trip to this new family, Leisel's brother dies. So right from the start death is there. I'm not going to give you a synopsis of it, because I think you should read it for yourself. Just know that a German family hides a Jew in their basement for a while, and death is around every corner. That last line of the novel really got me though..."I am haunted by humans."
